We’re Heading to the 2026 EMS & FIRE PRO Expo!
The GUIDE App is excited to be attending the 2026 EMS & FIRE PRO Expo, taking place October 22–24, 2026, at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut.
Bringing together thousands of professionals from across EMS, fire, emergency medicine, tactical response, and other areas of the first responder community, the EMS & FIRE PRO Expo creates an opportunity for those who serve to learn, connect, discover new resources, and have important conversations about the future of emergency response.
For The GUIDE App, those conversations include something that affects every area of the job: first responder wellness.
First responders spend their careers preparing for the unexpected. EMS professionals, firefighters, paramedics, EMTs, dispatchers, and other emergency personnel routinely step into situations most people hope they never experience. Training, equipment, technology, and education are essential to performing that work safely and effectively, but taking care of the person behind the uniform is just as important.
That is why we’re looking forward to connecting with the first responder community at this year’s EMS & FIRE PRO Expo.
Where First Responders Come Together to Learn and Connect
The EMS & FIRE PRO Expo is designed to bring emergency services professionals together for education, professional development, networking, and exposure to new tools and resources affecting the industry. The 2026 event is expected to bring together more than 2,500 first responders, over 175 exhibitors, and more than 100 educational sessions.
Attendees include professionals from throughout the emergency response community, including EMTs, paramedics, EMS leaders, firefighters, rescue personnel, emergency managers, tactical EMS providers, nurses, and other professionals who contribute to emergency care and public safety.
Events like EMS & FIRE PRO are important because the first responder profession never stands still. Technology evolves. Training changes. New challenges emerge. Departments continuously look for better ways to support their personnel and the communities they serve. Conferences allow professionals to step outside their everyday routines and learn from people who understand those challenges firsthand.
They also create an opportunity to talk about an area that has not always received the same level of attention as equipment, operations, and training: wellness.
Wellness Is Part of Readiness
When we talk about first responder readiness, we often think about whether someone has the proper equipment, knowledge, physical conditioning, and training to respond when the call comes in. But readiness is bigger than that.
Mental, emotional, and physical wellness all influence how people show up for their work and their lives outside of it.
First responders operate in environments where stress is often unavoidable. A shift may involve unpredictable calls, long hours, interrupted sleep, difficult scenes, traumatic events, physical demands, and the responsibility of making important decisions under pressure. Even when an individual call does not feel overwhelming, stress can accumulate over time.
Sometimes the effects are obvious. Other times, they are much quieter.
It might look like difficulty sleeping after a shift, feeling more irritable than usual, struggling to mentally disconnect from work, feeling physically exhausted, losing motivation, or simply feeling like you never completely reset before the next shift begins.
Wellness resources should not only become available when someone reaches a breaking point. They can also be tools for everyday maintenance, education, reflection, stress management, and resilience.
That philosophy is at the center of The GUIDE App.
Bringing Private, Accessible Wellness Resources to First Responders
The GUIDE App was created to make wellness support more accessible to the people who spend their careers supporting everyone else.
Our platform gives first responders access to wellness resources in a private and anonymous environment. It allows individuals to explore information, check in with themselves, learn about different areas of wellness, and access support without having to publicly identify themselves or explain why they are looking for a resource.
That privacy matters.
One of the challenges within first responder wellness is recognizing that there is no single approach that will work for everyone. Some people are comfortable immediately talking to another person when something is bothering them. Others need time to process an experience independently before deciding whether they want additional support.
Neither approach makes someone stronger or weaker.
What matters is having options.
The GUIDE App is designed to provide another one of those options—giving first responders a space they can access on their own terms as part of their overall wellness routine.
Wellness Goes Beyond Mental Health
Another conversation we’re looking forward to having at the EMS & FIRE PRO Expo is how broad first responder wellness really is.
Wellness isn’t limited to mental health. The different areas of our health are interconnected. Sleep can affect mood and decision-making. Nutrition can influence energy and recovery. Chronic stress can affect the body. Physical exhaustion can influence emotional resilience. Relationships, finances, work-life balance, movement, recovery, and daily habits can all play a role in how someone feels and functions.
For a first responder, these areas of wellness also have to exist alongside the realities of the profession.
Traditional wellness advice isn’t always designed around overnight shifts, mandatory overtime, interrupted meals, unpredictable calls, physically demanding work, or the emotional weight that can accompany emergency response.
Supporting first responder wellness means understanding that context.
It means creating resources that recognize the realities of the job instead of expecting first responders to fit their lives into a traditional wellness model.
Why Events Like EMS & FIRE PRO Matter to Us
One of the most valuable parts of attending a first responder conference is simply having the opportunity to listen.
The GUIDE App is built for the first responder community, which means feedback and conversations with the people actually doing the work matter tremendously. Connecting with EMS professionals, firefighters, department leaders, wellness coordinators, peer support teams, and other members of the emergency services community gives us an opportunity to better understand what departments are experiencing and what their people need.
What wellness challenges are departments seeing most often?
What resources are first responders actually using?
Where are the gaps?
What prevents people from accessing existing support?
What could make wellness resources easier to incorporate into everyday life?
Those conversations help move first responder wellness forward.
EMS & FIRE PRO allows organizations, educators, technology providers, responders, and industry leaders to exchange ideas and explore solutions together. We’re excited to be part of that conversation and to continue learning from the community we serve.
